“I want to help make your fundraising events a big success”

“I’m delighted to be a part of The National Brain Appeal team and am really looking forward to getting know all of our fundraisers and helping them make their events a huge success! A priority of mine at the moment is the Windsor Half Marathon and Running4Women 10k on the 26th-27th September. We still have places left for both events so if you are interested or know someone who might be, please get in touch with me right away. If you would like to take part in another challenge or if you would like to create your own fundraising event on behalf of The National Brain Appeal, I’m the person to speak to.

Before joining the team at The National Brain Appeal I spent a year travelling. I was lucky enough to visit the majority of South East Asia, Australia, New Zealand, Central and South America. It was always a dream of mine to travel the world but it was even better than I could have imagined! Trekking Machu Picchu over Christmas 2014, sitting on the edge of The Grand Canyon and White Water Rafting in New Zealand were just a few highlights from my trip.

Before travelling I had been working within the charity sector for two years as a fundraiser. I began my career as a fundraising apprentice at a very small charity in St Albans, whose main focus was to provide care and support for young people with disabilities. I quickly completed my fundraising apprentice course and was promoted to Fundraising and Marketing Assistant. This involved me managing the charities website/social media, e-newsletter, challenge and community fundraising.

I have a real passion for biology and healthcare so I decided to move on to a hospital-based charity, St Mark’s Hospital Foundation, which was a specialist hospital for Bowel Diseases. As the community & events fundraising executive, my main responsibilities included; organising their annual ball, being main point of contact for all fundraisers, managing volunteers and managing our corporate partnerships.

One thing you won’t know about me is that I used to be a UK Bollywood Dance Champion! I love to dance and most recently I have taken up Zumba, which I love. For those of you looking to create your own dancing event, I would be extremely keen to help and take part!”
