The 2.6 Challenge

April 26 - April 27

Calling all home heroes to save the UK’s charities!

The UK charity sector estimates it will lose £4 billion in income as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic (source: National Council of Voluntary Organisations CEO Karl Wilding). With hundreds of events postponed due to the pandemic, thousands of charities have had to reduce or stop services at a time when vulnerable members of society need them most.

The 2.6 Challenge is a simple way for people of all ages and abilities to help save the UK’s charities on Sunday 26 April (when the 40th London Marathon would have taken place). All you need to do is dream up an activity based around the numbers 2.6 or 26 that suits your skills – this could be something as simple as pledging to run or ride 2.6 miles as your daily exercise, holding the plank for 2.6 minutes or gardening for 26 minutes.

This is your chance to be a Home Hero and raise funds from your very own living room, bedroom, balcony, garden or local area! There are no rules – apart from the Government guidelines on how to exercise safely during this time. The main thing is to get active, have fun, pledge whatever you can to help or fundraise to save the UK’s charities.

For more information, visit the official 2.6 Challenge website.

To raise money directly in aid of The National Brian Appeal, please set up your JustGiving page and let everyone know what you are doing to raise money for us!

If you have any questions, or need fundraising support, please contact our Senior Fundraising Officer, Alexis Gebbie.
