The Local Landmarks Challenge
April 1 - May 3
Join #TeamBrainAppeal in a virtual run – The Local Landmarks Challenge!
Due to the coronavirus situation, the London Landmarks Half Marathon event organisers have suggested an alternative event: The Local Landmarks Challenge.
The Local Landmarks Challenge is a solo, virtual run, around your local landmarks. This could be anything from your local church, castle, park, statue or even post-box. The challenge is open to everyone, whether you have a place in the LLHM 2020 or not and distances over 5k qualify for the challenge (you don’t have to run a full half marathon). You can take part in the Local Landmarks Challenge from today until 3 May 2020 and you are encouraged to continue fundraising for The National Brain Appeal whilst taking part. You will receive a medal for this too!
Please remember that this is a solo, virtual challenge. It is important not to do this in groups. The current government advice is that it’s safe to go outside to run once a day alone or with a member of your household as long as you keep a safe distance from other people (at least a two metre distance). You must also follow government advice and minimise the amount of time you are outside – so please ensure that you complete the challenge as part of your daily exercise routine. It is essential that you do not exercise outside more than you would normally. Please read the government’s advice which can be found here and adhere to it at all times. If you would like to read the PM’s latest advice, this can be found here. If the government advice changes, the Local Landmarks Challenge will be paused and re-opened for the remaining duration once it is safe to do so.
