Peter Freeman

Concert for Nicky

Peter Freeman and the St Albans High School for Girls have raised over £5,000 for the Surgical Intensive Care Unit following treatment received by Peter’s daughter Nicola (pictured) at The National Hospital.

One month before her 18th Birthday Nicola lost control of her car in heavy rain and collided with a tree on her way to her school Prom. Both her legs were broken, as was her pelvis and she was in a coma. Three years after extensive operations and Neuro-rehabilitation at the National, the Regional Rehabilitation Unit at Northwick Park and the QEF Brain Injury Centre in Banstead, she is now studying performing arts alongside work experience and continuing her therapies at National Star College in Gloucestershire.

The above picture was taken at St James Palace in late 2012 where Nicola received her Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s’ Award. She had almost completed the stages of her Award with only her residential stay to complete, when her accident happened.
