Who are The National Brain Appeal? Read moreClose
A.

The National Brain Appeal is the charity dedicated to raising much-needed funds for The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery in Queen Square, London. The National is one of the world’s leading centres for the diagnosis, treatment and care of patients with a wide range of neurological disorders and neuromuscular conditions including multiple sclerosis (MS), brain cancer, epilepsy, Parkinson’s disease, stroke, Prion disease, and head injury.

There are over 12.5 million people with a neurological condition in the UK today.
This is more than the number of people living with cancer, coronary heart disease and diabetes combined.

Since the charity began in 1984 we have raised over £40million for state-of-the-art equipment, major building programmes and life-saving research.

I live overseas, can I enter an artwork? Read moreClose
A.

Yes, but please ensure that you pay sufficient postage and note that you are liable for any UK customs charges.  The charity will be unable to pay charges on receipt of artwork.

I have registered online, can I get a pack sent to me by post? Read moreClose
A.

Yes, please email letterinmind@nationalbrainappeal.org with your address and we will post this as soon as possible.

Q.
I don’t want to source my own envelope, who do I contact for a pre-supplied envelope? Read moreClose
A.

Please email letterinmind@nationalbrainappeal.org with the address you wish the envelope to be sent to and we will post an envelope to you as soon as possible. There will be a charge for envelopes being sent outside the UK.

Will I be notified that my artwork has been safely received? Read moreClose
A.

A member of the team will email (or telephone) you once your work arrives in our office – please note this may take up to five working days from receiving your artwork (we are a very small team). If you are posting your artwork we would advise sending it by special delivery so that you can track the artwork and in a hard-backed envelope.

Will I be notified if my artwork is accepted into the exhibition? Read moreClose

Due to the large volumes of entries anticipated, we will be unable to contact each artist to confirm their artwork has been accepted into the exhibition. On this basis, you will only be contacted if your artwork is not going to be exhibited.

Can I drop my artwork directly to gallery@oxo? Read moreClose
A.

No, gallery@oxo will not accept artwork.

Q.
How do I get a place at the Private View and how many guests can I bring with me? Read moreClose
A.

We will send an email in August 2017 inviting all artists to the private view. Each artist may bring one guest and will need to RSVP including the guest name. Please note that the capacity of the gallery is 150 at any one time so we may have to move people through the exhibition.

Will the artworks be viewable and sold online? Read moreClose
A.

Yes, artworks can be viewed online during the exhibition and buying will be announced on this website and through social media.

Please do not post images online of your artwork as the work will be exhibited and sold anonymously. Make sure you encourage colleagues, friends and family to attend the public exhibition from 28 Sept – 1 Oct at gallery@oxo.

What happens to the unsold artwork? Read moreClose

The work becomes the property of The National Brain Appeal and we hope to continue to sell the work online for at least six months after the end of the exhibition. We reserve the right to return unsold works after this period.

You should find the answer in the Conditions of Entry or Useful Information downloads, if not please email letterinmind@nationalbrainappeal.org and one of the team will get back to you as soon as possible. Please note that at busy times it may take us up to five working days to reply.

How will I know if my work has sold? Read moreClose

The website will be updated to show which works have sold and are available as soon as possible after a sale has been made.

What is the minimum age for artists submitting an artwork? Read moreClose

The exhibition is open to people aged 18 or over on 1 September 2017
