It is only four days until our Pyjama Party campaign – a wonderful week where any excuse to wear your pyjamas in the daytime is a good one (just look at our chief executive Theresa doing the school run in her PJs)!
Don’t worry of you haven’t yet planned anything as there is still time to organise a great fundraising event that doesn’t require heaps of time.
Here’s a few ideas to get you started: why not take inspiration from Ellen, a senior nurse at Queen Square, who will be running a film night for patients and staff at The National? Or, you could join John Sullivan’s sleepwalk on Saturday 27 October – a leisurely one mile stroll from Jubilee Gardens to Embankment followed by an after-party at the Opal Bar.
Get all your friends and family involved and arrange a bedtime themed bake-off. Or how about settling down to a midnight feast (wearing pyjamas of course), with popcorn and hot chocolate and a great sleepover film.
One afternoon in the TNBA office over cups of tea, we discussed films we think are perfect for sleepovers and came up with:
• Princess Bride
• Railway Children
• Dirty Dancing
For those of you that know the team, can you guess who chose which film? Answers beneath!
We then had a trip through the 80s remembering the leg warmers, big hair, iconic soundtracks and romantic moments of Footloose, When Harry met Sally, Sleepless in Seattle and You’ve Got Mail.
(Amelie – Alex A, Nativity! – Marcelle, Grease – Theresa, Witness – Nicola, Princess Bride – Rosie, Railway Children – Leigh, Dirty Dancing – Alex B)
