One of our major supporters, “Cooking4Charity” is off to Broadstairs on 5, 6 and 7 October to take part in the Broadstairs Food Festival to raise some more money for the National Brain Appeal.
Nicky Buckingham, in partnership with Thanet Earth – who donate all the fruit and vegetables that go into the jams and chutneys she sells on our behalf – will have one of the 100 stalls at the Festival which is now in it’s 4th year. We understand that Jamie Oliver is one of the celebrities putting in an appearance, along with an estimated crowd of 50,000 over the three days.
Nicky tells us she’s been working for about seven months on the project and was really thrilled when last January she was asked to share a stand with Thanet Earth who will be paying all her expenses. Eleven varieties of chutney, six varieties of jam and two types of jelly, totalling over 1,700 jars, are now packed and ready for the journey to Broadstairs. So, if you fancy a trip to the sea-side, to the largest food and drink show in the South-East – have a look at the Broadstairs Food Festival website for more details.
And, for those of you who can’t make it to the Festival, the good news is that Nicky will be back at The National selling cakes, jams and chutneys on 24 October. Yum…
